My first love is visual arts and after a long absence to pursue other interests, I have come back to it, starting with some art classes.

I was very fortunate to take Farhad’s Portrait Class at Shadbolt in January 2018.   Since then I have taken Farhad’s life drawing and painting, abstract, pastels and photorealism.

Farhad is very knowledgeable in the different techniques from the old masters, impressionists, to the modern painters.    He allows you to decide on your own projects and guides you as oppose to telling you what you should or shouldn’t do.   He encourages you to find your own creativity.   

I have learned a lot and am looking forward to attending more of his classes.

I would like to give credit to a fabulous art teacher, Farhad (Fred) Amini.

I had the good fortune to be able to attend Fred’s basic drawing and basic painting classes held at the Minoru Recreation Centre, in Richmond, B.C.. I was a complete beginner, and had not done art work since elementary school, many years ago. As you probably can guess, I was quite nervous and intimidated by even trying, but thanks to Fred, and his lovely personality and kind, patient ways, he taught me how to not fear art, but to enjoy it.

I learned so much from this very knowledgeable artist, that I plan to continue with another of his courses in July. Fred, thank you very much for helping me to overcome my fear and enjoy such

I was lucky to have chances to take Mr. Farhad’s several different classes: from portrait, figures drawing, hands and feet drawing to realism painting. These fantastic journeys have taken me to explore the art world which was blank to me before the classes.

I had little knowledge about drawing and painting at the beginning, and I had difficulty to draw three dimensional objects and  gain colouring theories. Mr. Farhad has been so patient to help me obtain confidence to hang on in the art field.

Gradually, I began loving painting now and appreciating the nature thoroughly. Thanks  a lot Mr. Farhad.

I will take more classes with Mr. Farhad, and hope my skills of drawing and painting will improve to a new level.

Mr Farhad has abundant teaching experience, his lessons build on individual attention and teaching the different methods in a precise manner. He teaches me how to paint  realistically like photograph also helps me to learn the depth of  the old master techniques in terms of chroma, color and values, the lessons give me the chance is not just coping but also understanding, with the hope of developing my own vocabulary and point of view, I am looking forward to taking his class again soon.

I had the privilege of attending Farhad’s “Portrait Painting” classes at Shadbolt Centre of the Arts from the spring of 2018 to the present.

The learning experience – history, theory, and practical aspects of art – has contributed so much to my progress in painting in oils , my preferred medium.

Farhad’s training and his interest in passing on his knowledge and experience is evident.

He is a gifted and patient teacher, whose guidance continues to inspire me, for which I thank you.

I have had many instructors in art from my early childhood through to the community and University levels. Based on my wide exposure I can say the Farhad is an extremely knowledgeable instructor in the arts.  Farhad is himself a very talented artist who also possesses the ability to instruct his pupils according to their unique style and individual ability level and has knowledge of many artistic styles.

He is a passionate instructor who shows great patience and dedication to each of his students and takes pride at seeing them accomplish and achieve their own artistic goals while not imposing his own upon them.  

Overall, Farhad creates an environment that facilitates creativity and support that I have not seen before.

Farhad is an excellent teacher.  After attending his classes, I am so motivated to draw and paint more. Farhad is so willing to share all the techniques and knowledge in class. I am learning so much from him. I highly recommend anybody to attend his classes.  I discover my passion for watercolour painting and drawing with charcoals attending his classes.

Have you ever looked for a good drawing teacher. One that teaches in a way that helps you see and what to look for in a good drawing.

Farhad has an easy going nature which takes the seriousness out of class. People are relaxed and laughing while learning.
